EDA Chairman Urges Azza Youths to Embrace Peaceful Political Engagement

The Chairman of the Evuti Development Association (EDA), Mallam Adamu Abubakar, has called on the youths of Azza community to engage in politics peacefully, placing the interest of the community above personal or party considerations.

He made the call during the general meeting of the Ekpe Development Association held at Evuti Central Primary School on Sunday, 18th October 2026, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In his address, Mallam Adamu stressed that politics is not only about interest but also about leadership, urging the community to prioritise its collective development before deciding who to vote for.

"Before you cast your vote, ask yourself: what will this candidate do for Azza? The interest of our community must come first," he stated.

He cautioned the youths against being used as tools of violence by politicians, warning that the same politicians they fight for today may become allies with their opponents tomorrow, leaving the youths to bear the consequences.

"For the politician, what matters most is their political interest. The person you fought for today may become a close ally of the person you fought against tomorrow, while you are left to bear the consequences. Therefore, you must be reasonable and wise," he advised.

Mallam Adamu also stressed that people should be allowed to support any political party of their choice without intimidation or violence, emphasizing that democracy thrives on freedom of choice.

"Let everyone support the party they believe in. Politics should not divide us as a people," he added.

In his final remarks, he urged the Azza community to vote for leaders committed to the development of their community, looking beyond party affiliations to focus on capacity and commitment to deliver progress.
