A resident of Minna has been reunited with his stolen motorcycle following a swift intervention by operatives of the Niger State Police Command.
According to the Command, a patrol team attached to Tudun-Wada Division, while conducting routine surveillance around the Highpoint area at about 3:00 a.m. on July 7, spotted a suspect attempting to remove a Bajaj motorcycle from a residential compound.
On sighting the police patrol team, the suspect reportedly abandoned the motorcycle and fled the scene. The officers immediately recovered the vehicle, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
In a development that highlights the impact of proactive policing, the owner of the motorcycle later surfaced and successfully identified and reclaimed his property.
The Niger State Police Command said the recovery was part of ongoing efforts to safeguard lives and property across the state through intensified patrols and crime-prevention operations.
The Command urged residents to remain vigilant and continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information to aid the fight against crime.
