President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will attend and address world leaders at the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), scheduled to hold in New York, United States, in September.
Nigeria's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Jimoh Ibrahim, disclosed this on Wednesday after a meeting with the President at the State House in Abuja.
According to the ambassador, President Tinubu has approved Nigeria's preparations for the annual global summit and confirmed his participation.
During the Assembly, the President is expected to participate in high-level engagements on energy, education and healthcare, while presenting Nigeria's ongoing economic and governance reforms to the international community.
Tinubu will also engage world leaders on regional security, with a focus on strengthening border policing across West Africa to address growing cross-border security challenges.
The 81st Session of the UN General Assembly will open on September 8, while the General Debate, where heads of state and government deliver their national addresses, is scheduled for September 22 to 28.
The annual gathering will bring together world leaders to discuss key global issues, including climate change, sustainable development, international peace and security.
