President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated former Jigawa State Governor and former Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, on his birthday, wishing him good health, longevity and continued success in public service.
In a congratulatory message, President Tinubu described Badaru as an experienced administrator, successful businessman and committed politician who has contributed to Nigeria’s development.
Tinubu recalled Badaru’s tenure as Governor of Jigawa State from 2015 to 2023, highlighting his administration’s focus on agriculture, infrastructure development and social programmes.
The President also commended Badaru’s service as Minister of Defence, a position he held from August 2023 until December 2025, describing his tenure as part of his contribution to national service.
Tinubu further acknowledged Badaru’s background in business, particularly through the Talamiz Group, noting his transition from the private sector into public service.
The President also recognised Badaru’s support for the All Progressives Congress (APC), including his role as Director-General of the Arewa for Asiwaju (A4A) organisation.
Tinubu prayed for continued good health, strength and long life for the former governor, while expressing hope that he would continue contributing to the development of Nigeria.
Badaru served as Governor of Jigawa State for two terms between 2015 and 2023 before joining the Federal Executive Council as Minister of Defence in August 2023.
