The governorship candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 general election, Alhaji Idris Usman Makanta, has assured residents of Niger State of a new era of prosperity and purposeful governance if elected governor.
Makanta gave the assurance on Thursday in Abuja after completing his documentation as the party's governorship flagbearer.
Speaking alongside the NDC State Chairman, Alhaji Ahmed Inuwa, and members of the party's State Executive Committee, the candidate said Niger State possesses enormous potential that can be harnessed through effective leadership and prudent management of resources.
He expressed confidence in the NDC's chances in the 2027 governorship election and pledged to provide leadership that would drive development and improve the welfare of the people.
Makanta also thanked residents across the three senatorial districts for their support and encouragement, describing it as a source of motivation for his political aspiration.
He urged party members and supporters to remain united and committed to the collective goal of building a more prosperous and progressive Niger State.
