The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Niger State Area Unit, has inaugurated the Organising Committee for the forthcoming 67th State Islamic Vacation Course (IVC) and 17th Academic Week Finals.
The inauguration, held in Minna, was presided over by the Deputy Amir in charge of Scholarship and Studies, Malam Isah Kasimu Ewugi, who inaugurated the committee on behalf of the leadership of the Society.
The committee is chaired by Malam Umar Larat Aliyu and is expected to coordinate activities for the week-long programme scheduled to hold from the 24th to the 30th of August, 2026, at Police Secondary School, Minna.
Speaking at the meeting, the Chief Organiser, Brother Musa Kudan Muhammad, said the programme, themed “Amānah of Leadership: Building a Generation for Responsible Leadership and Nation Building,” is expected to attract over one thousand participants from the twenty-five local government areas of Niger State.
He explained that an estimated budget of more than ten million naira had been projected to cover accommodation, feeding, welfare, security, academic activities and other logistics.
To ensure smooth planning and execution, several sub-committees were constituted, including Registration and Certification, Secretariat, Protocol, Media and Publicity, Academics, Finance and Resource Mobilisation, Accommodation, Feeding and Kitchen, Health and Medical, Security, Welfare and Screening Committees.
Participants at the meeting stressed the need for early engagement with relevant institutions, media organisations, security agencies and development partners to guarantee a successful outing.
The meeting was attended by the Amir of MSSN Minna Area Council, members of the Unit Executive Council, stakeholders from Paiko Area Council, members of the organising committee and other dignitaries, including Professor Bala Salihu.
The 67th State Islamic Vacation Course is expected to feature Qur’anic studies, lectures, leadership training, debates, quiz and essay competitions, public speaking contests and other educational activities aimed at promoting knowledge, character development and leadership among Muslim students.
The Organising Committee expressed confidence that the programme would be one of the most impactful editions in the history of MSSN in Niger State and called on members and stakeholders to support its successful implementation.
