Senator Abubakar Sani Bello Denies Links to Alleged Niger Rescue Movement

Senator representing Niger North Senatorial District and former Governor of Niger State, Senator Abubakar Sani Bello, has dismissed reports linking him to the alleged Niger Rescue Movement (NRM), reaffirming his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The denial was contained in a statement issued on Friday by his Media Adviser, Muawiyah Yusuf Muye. 

According to the statement, the senator has neither endorsed nor authorized the formation of, or participation in, any political group opposed to the APC-led government in Niger State. It described reports associating him with the alleged movement as false and misleading, urging the public to disregard them. 

The statement acknowledged that some of Senator Bello's political associates had recently defected to opposition parties but maintained that their decisions were personal and should not be interpreted as reflecting the senator's political position or endorsement.

It further noted that many of his associates, political mentees, and supporters remain within the APC and continue to support the party and its administration at both the state and national levels.

The media adviser also recalled that Senator Bello had publicly reaffirmed his commitment to the APC during an earlier interview, stressing that his loyalty to the party remains unchanged. 

Describing Senator Bello as one of the founding members of the APC, the statement said he remains committed to promoting peace, unity, democratic values, and the development of Niger State and Nigeria through established democratic processes.

The statement concluded by urging members of the public, party supporters, and media organisations to verify political information through official sources and avoid attributing political activities or affiliations to the senator without his express authorization.
