Chillin Mastaa says two men allegedly robbed him after boarding his tricycle in Tunga, Minna
Popular Niger State social media influencer, Yakubu Sufyaan, popularly known as Chillin Mastaa, has narrated how he was allegedly robbed of cash by two men while travelling in a commercial tricycle in Minna.
Sufyaan said the incident occurred at about 7 p.m., shortly after Maghrib prayers, while he was travelling to an event in Bossu.
According to him, he had withdrawn money from a Point-of-Sale (POS) outlet before boarding the tricycle. He said the incident occurred around Tunga, near the OPA office, when two men stopped the vehicle and joined as passengers.
Sufyaan said he became suspicious shortly after the men entered the tricycle and held onto his phone. He alleged that one of the passengers subsequently attempted to reach into his pocket, where he had kept the cash.
He said he checked the money, counted it and returned it to his pocket. Shortly afterwards, he alleged that one of the men told the tricycle operator that he wanted to alight because he had forgotten something.
Sufyaan said he then discovered that the money was missing and asked the tricycle operator to stop.
According to his account, the two men got down from the tricycle and allegedly displayed weapons, warning against searching them for the missing money.
Faced with the threat, Sufyaan said he decided not to resist.

He said the tricycle operator subsequently drove away from the scene and took him to his destination.
Raises Concerns Over Mining Activities
Sufyaan also used the account to raise concerns about the increasing presence of informal mining activities within and around residential communities in Minna.
He alleged that some young people are increasingly turning to mining in search of quick financial gains rather than pursuing formal education or vocational training.
He further claimed that some individuals involved in the activities carry weapons and may threaten residents who challenge them.
Sufyaan also alleged that some vigilante personnel may be providing information to individuals involved in mining whenever security agencies are preparing enforcement operations.
The influencer called on the Niger State Government and relevant security agencies to investigate the security concerns he raised and strengthen measures to protect residents.
He also urged residents who have experienced similar incidents to report them to the appropriate authorities.
The allegations have nevertheless drawn attention to concerns surrounding personal safety, informal mining and security within communities in Minna.
