Lapai TV Founder Pledges ₦40,000 WAEC Support to Young Vendor

An SS2 student and young pushcart vendor, Adamu Suleiman, on Thursday visited the Lapai TV Head Office alongside his father following the station’s recent publication seeking to establish contact with him.

Adamu, a student of Muhammadu Jauro Secondary School, Lapai, was accompanied by his father, Mallam Suleiman Usman of Batafu area, Lapai, during the visit.
The development followed an earlier encounter between Adamu and Lapai-based photographer Sadiq Mustapha at Lapai Tuesday Market. The young vendor had approached Mustapha while he was photographing craftsmen who produce and sell calabashes and gourds, requesting that his photograph be taken and that he be featured on Lapai TV.

Following the publication by Lapai TV seeking to locate him, Adamu came to the station’s office with his father.

Receiving the young vendor, Lapai TV Founder Aliyu Abdullahi Kure encouraged him to remain dedicated to his education while continuing his legitimate business activities.

Kure reiterated his earlier ₦40,000 pledge towards Adamu’s education and examination expenses. The pledge has not yet been redeemed and is expected to be fulfilled when Adamu is approaching his West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE/WAEC).
Kure also presented Adamu with ₦5,000 as a stipend, in recognition of his initiative in approaching photographer Sadiq Mustapha and requesting to be featured on Lapai TV.

The gesture brought the total value of the support and pledged assistance to ₦45,000, comprising the ₦5,000 stipend already given and the ₦40,000 examination support pledged for a later date.

Kure urged the young vendor to remain focused and dedicated to his studies and continue working hard as he pursues his education and livelihood.

Responding to the gesture, Adamu’s father, Mallam Suleiman Usman, commended Lapai TV for what he described as its positive impact in the community.

He expressed appreciation for the support and prayed for the continued growth and success of the organisation.

The visit provided an opportunity for Lapai TV to connect directly with the young vendor whose request for a media feature at the market had led to the station’s efforts to locate him.
