The Kaduna State Police Command says it has arrested 12 suspects, comprising eight suspected kidnappers and four alleged informants, during intensified security operations in Millennium City and Maraban Rido.
Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday, October 12, 2026, saying the arrests followed clearance operations, targeted raids and intensified patrols conducted in collaboration with other security agencies.
The command identified the eight suspected kidnappers as Dauda Murna, Usman Abdullahi, Abubakar Sulaiman, Saleh Abdullahi, Usman Muhammed, Mathias Moses, Makama John and Tafarki Audu.
The four alleged informants were identified as Shuaibu Sabiu, Audu Makama, Simon Moses and Amadu Mathew.
According to the police, AK-47 rifles were also recovered during the operations. The command said preliminary investigations indicated that two of the suspects allegedly confessed to providing criminal elements with information about police operations and security movements.
The police said investigations are continuing to determine the extent of the suspects' alleged involvement, identify other accomplices and establish those who may be liable to prosecution.
The command also disclosed that the Kaduna State Government had released three additional Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) to strengthen police operations in Millennium City and surrounding communities.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Rabiu, has ordered the deployment of additional tactical personnel, operational vehicles and other security resources to the affected areas to strengthen surveillance and improve response times.
The police have urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements or activities to security agencies, while assuring communities that operations against criminal hideouts will continue.
