Search FM Warns Against Unverified Claims Over Death of Former Volunteer Nusaiba Abdulrahman

Search FM 92.3 FUT Minna has cautioned the public against circulating unverified claims about the cause of death of Nusaiba Abdulrahman, a former volunteer and newscaster with the station.

The station announced Nusaiba’s death on Friday, October 9, 2026, saying she had earlier been diagnosed with Mixed Connective Tissue Disease, involving Polymyositis and Scleroderma, an autoimmune condition described in the statement as incurable but manageable.

According to the management of Search FM, Nusaiba received financial and moral support from colleagues, listeners and members of the public during her illness and treatment.
The station's management, in a statement, urged the public to disregard social media publications attributing her death to a heart-related illness or other causes that were not officially diagnosed by the medical professionals who treated her.

It appealed to bloggers, social media users and members of the public to avoid spreading unverified information and to respect the privacy of Nusaiba’s family as they mourn her.

Search FM also expressed appreciation to individuals who supported Nusaiba through financial contributions, prayers, visits and other forms of assistance during her illness, including while she received treatment at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada.

The management further stated that Nusaiba had personally shared with the station a record of individuals who contributed towards her medical care.

The station, alongside her immediate family, thanked all those who stood by her throughout her illness and expressed appreciation for the support extended to her during her final period.

The statement concluded with prayers for the forgiveness of Nusaiba Abdulrahman’s shortcomings, her eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus, and strength for her family, friends, former colleagues and others mourning her death.
