President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed former Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Yusuf Magaji Bichi, as Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Institute for Security Studies (NISS).
The appointment took effect on October 22, 2026, for an initial four-year term, in accordance with the law establishing the institute.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the institute's Director, Lilian Omo-Odigwe.
Bichi succeeds A.A. Gadzama, who previously served as chairman of the governing board.
Bichi retired from his position as Director-General of the DSS in 2024 after years of service with the domestic intelligence agency.
