The Niger State House of Assembly has urged security agencies to intensify efforts to identify, arrest and prosecute those responsible for the killing of Comrade Jafar Abdullahi Dabawu in Minna.
The resolution followed a Motion of Urgent Public Importance moved by the Member representing Munya Constituency, Hon. Dogara Daje, during plenary on Tuesday, presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin-Daji.
Lawmakers expressed concern over the delay in bringing the perpetrators to justice and stressed the need for a thorough investigation to ensure accountability.
The Assembly also called for stronger collaboration among security agencies, improved intelligence gathering, and enhanced community policing to curb violent crimes across the state.
In its resolutions, the House mandated its Committee on Security to engage relevant security agencies, monitor the progress of investigations, and report back with recommendations.
The lawmakers further commiserated with the family of the late Dabawu, the Minna Emirate Youth Association, and the people of Niger State over the loss.
