President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed security agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend those responsible for the deadly attack on Naridon community in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State and secure the release of residents abducted during the incident.
The directive followed an attack carried out in the early hours of Monday in the Kamaru area of Naridon, where about 30 people, including women and children, were reportedly killed. Several houses were also set ablaze during the assault.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja by the President's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu condemned the attack, describing it as a brutal act of violence against innocent civilians.
According to the statement, the President ordered the military, the Nigeria Police Force, and intelligence agencies to intensify patrols and security operations aimed at tracking down the perpetrators, rescuing those kidnapped, and restoring peace to the affected communities.
President Tinubu also warned that individuals seeking to undermine the security gains recorded in Kaduna State would be brought to justice. He extended his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, the Kaduna State Government, and the people of the state.
The President reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to supporting Kaduna State in addressing its security challenges, stating that his administration would continue strengthening the operational capacity of security agencies and intensifying efforts to dismantle criminal networks.
He further urged residents to continue providing credible and timely information to security agencies to help prevent future attacks and improve public safety.
Authorities have not yet released an official update on the identities of the attackers or the number of people abducted during the incident.
