LTracka's analysis of the 2026 Federal Budget identifies projects across Niger East, Niger North and Niger South, with road infrastructure, housing, agriculture and energy among the largest allocations.
Niger State has been allocated N22.32 billion for constituency and zonal intervention projects in the 2026 Federal Budget, according to an analysis published by public finance accountability organisation Tracka. The allocations cover projects across the state's three senatorial districts and include investments in road infrastructure, housing, agriculture, education, healthcare, power and water supply.
According to Tracka, the allocations form part of the N2.33 trillion earmarked for 11,231 constituency projects captured in the 2026 Federal Budget. The organisation urged citizens and civil society groups to monitor project implementation to promote transparency and accountability.
Tracka's analysis indicates that Niger East Senatorial District received the largest share of the state's allocations, valued at about N18.60 billion. Major projects include the N10.5 billion reconstruction of the Suleja–Minna Road (Dikko to Maje Bypass), N3.3 billion for the construction of housing units for low-income and vulnerable residents, and N2.5 billion for the Kwakuti–Kafin Koro–Ishau–Amale–Katari Road project.
Other projects listed for the district include solar mini-grid installations and streetlights, agricultural support programmes, medical equipment procurement, school rehabilitation, healthcare interventions, borehole construction, market development, vocational training and support for small businesses.
For Niger North Senatorial District, Tracka identified projects worth approximately N2.30 billion. The allocations include funding for the expansion of the Kontagora Airstrip, rehabilitation of roads in Kontagora, installation of solar streetlights, renovation of public schools and the construction of roads and culverts in selected communities.
In Niger South Senatorial District, projects valued at about N2.25 billion were identified. They include rehabilitation of rural roads, construction and rehabilitation of roads in Lavun and Gbako Local Government Areas, development of the Ebba/Badeggi Dam and Irrigation Scheme, electrification projects, tractor distribution and other agricultural support initiatives.
Tracka stated that constituency and zonal intervention projects account for more than 30 per cent of all projects contained in the 2026 Federal Budget. The organisation called on residents, community groups and civil society organisations to monitor implementation of projects in their respective communities to ensure public funds are used effectively and intended projects are delivered.
The figures published by Tracka are based on its analysis of the 2026 Federal Budget. Implementation of the listed projects will depend on budget releases, procurement processes and execution by the relevant ministries, departments and agencies.
