LAESA Begins Sale of Forms for 2026/2027 Annual Convention

Application opens August 4, closes August 25 as committee outlines registration requirements for participants

The Convention Planning Committee (CPC) of the Lapai Emirate Students' Association (LAESA) National Headquarters has commenced the sale of registration forms for the association's 2026/2027 Annual Convention, with prospective participants given until August 25, 2026, to complete the registration process.

In a public announcement signed by CPC Chairman, Abubakar Suleiman Gbage, and CPC Secretary, Mohammed Hamza, the committee said the sale of forms officially began on Monday, August 4, 2026, and will end on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. The committee called on all eligible participants, including members of the Students' Representative Assembly (SRA), to complete their registration within the stipulated period.

According to the committee, applicants are required to submit a letter of introduction from their respective tertiary institutions confirming their executive membership. They must also provide photocopies of their admission letter, valid school identification card, and one recent passport photograph as part of the verification process.

The committee stated that applicants may submit clear electronic copies of the required documents to the CPC Chairman through the designated contact channels to facilitate a seamless registration and verification exercise. It urged all intending participants to comply with the requirements before the closing date to ensure effective planning for the convention.

The registration exercise follows developments earlier this year in the association's leadership structure. On February 2, 2026, the Students' Representative Assembly (SRA), under the leadership of Speaker Rt. Hon. Muhammad Abdulkadir Lafarma and Clerk Amb. Suleiman Muhammad Evuti, announced the dissolution of the former Executive Arm of the LAESA National Headquarters through a constitutional resolution.

According to the resolution, the offices of the President, Vice President, General Secretary, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, and Publicity Secretary were dissolved, while relevant stakeholders, including the Nigeria Police Force, Lapai Division, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Lapai Emirate Council, were notified of the leadership transition.

The Convention Planning Committee advised interested participants seeking additional information on the registration process to contact the committee through its officially provided communication channels.
