An individual who requested anonymity has donated ₦75,000 to support the education of Adamu Suleiman, an SS2 student and young pushcart vendor in Lapai, following a recent report by Lapai TV on the student’s visit to the station.
The donation was made approximately two hours after Lapai TV published a report on a meeting between Adamu and the station’s Founder, Aliyu Abdullahi Kure.
According to information available to Lapai TV, the donor credited ₦75,000 to the station’s account specifically to support Adamu’s educational needs.
The development follows Lapai TV’s earlier efforts to locate Adamu after he approached photographer Sadiq Mustapha at Lapai Tuesday Market, expressing his desire to have his photograph taken and to be featured on Lapai TV.
Adamu, an SS2 student of Muhammadu Jauro Secondary School, Lapai, later visited the station’s office with his father, Mallam Suleiman Usman, from the Batafu area of Lapai.
During the meeting, Lapai TV Founder Aliyu Abdullahi Kure encouraged the young vendor to remain committed to his education while continuing his legitimate business activities.
Kure had earlier pledged ₦40,000 towards Adamu’s educational and examination expenses, particularly as he approaches his West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE/WAEC).
Following the publication of the meeting, the anonymous donor made the ₦75,000 contribution to further support the student.
Lapai TV understands that the latest support is intended to contribute towards Adamu’s educational needs, while the station continues to monitor the development.
