Students of the Teachers Professional Institute are receiving free computer-based test (CBT) training in Minna ahead of their examination scheduled for September 12, 2026.
Speaking during the training, Hadiza Audi, Sectional Head of the Teachers Professional Institute Section of the Education Department, said the students were brought for the training to familiarise them with computer operations ahead of the examination.
Audi explained that the institute’s programme has been running for about 10 years, with examinations previously conducted manually. She said the introduction of computer-based testing has made it necessary to train students on how to use computers before taking the examination.
She said the permanent site of the Teachers Professional Institute is in Kuta, but activities have been moved to Minna due to security concerns.
According to Audi, Baiwa College for Administrative and Management Studies, Lapai, is sponsoring the CBT training at no cost to the students. The college is providing computers and a resource person to facilitate the training.
Audi expressed appreciation to the management of Baiwa College for the support and urged parents to give their children the necessary encouragement when they are selected to participate in the programme.
She further stated that students who successfully pass the required examination may receive support towards their education, including opportunities to pursue further studies in Education-related programmes, subject to the institute’s requirements.
Audi also said the Teachers Professional Institute receives financial contributions from the 25 local government councils, with each council reportedly contributing monthly towards the development of the programme.
