Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has proscribed the activities of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in the state following the killing of Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as Ajagungbade Emir.

Oyeyemi was reportedly shot dead on Sunday in Ile-Ife by suspected hoodlums during a clash over control of a motor garage in the ancient city.
In a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke directed the Commissioner of Police to immediately arrest those involved in the killing and ensure that they are prosecuted in accordance with the law.
The governor also ordered the immediate vacation of all motor parks by rival factions involved in the dispute, while directing security agencies to restore normalcy and maintain law and order across motor parks in the state.
As part of measures to prevent further violence and regulate activities within the transport sector, Adeleke announced the reintroduction of a Park Management System across Osun State.
According to the statement, the governor will issue an Executive Order to provide legal backing for the new management system.
The measures followed renewed violence linked to disputes over control of transport parks in Ile-Ife, with the state government moving to prevent further clashes and safeguard public order.
