President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari, representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, on his 58th birthday, marked on Monday, September 28, 2026.
In a birthday message, President Tinubu acknowledged Yari’s political and administrative experience, highlighting his previous service as governor of Zamfara State and his current role as Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 election.
Yari served as governor of Zamfara State from 2011 to 2019, completing two terms in office. He was also elected chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum in 2015, a position in which he represented the collective interests of state governors on national issues.
The National Assembly’s official profile lists Yari as the senator representing Zamfara West and records his date of birth as September 28, 1968, making him 58 on Monday.
President Tinubu also referred to Yari’s current political responsibilities within the APC. The party constituted its Presidential Campaign Council in August, with Yari appointed Director-General and Tinubu serving as chairman of the council.
