Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has been appointed Chairman of the Youth Mobilisation Subcommittee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council for the forthcoming Ekiti State governorship election.
The campaign council was inaugurated in Abuja by the National Chairman of the APC, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, who expressed confidence in the party's chances of securing victory at the polls and retaining Governor Biodun Oyebanji for a second term in office.
According to the APC, the campaign council will be chaired by Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, while Senate President Godswill Akpabio will serve as co-chairman. Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, was named secretary of the council.
Governor Bago will lead the Youth Mobilisation Subcommittee alongside Governors Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State and Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State as co-chairmen. Deputy Governor of Edo State, Dennis Idahosa, will serve as vice chairman of the committee.
Prof. Yilwatda charged members of the campaign council and its various subcommittees to work diligently towards ensuring the re-election of Governor Oyebanji in the upcoming governorship election.
The inauguration marks the formal commencement of the APC's campaign preparations ahead of the Ekiti governorship poll.
