Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have recorded another major success in the fight against terrorism after overpowering suspected Lakurawa terrorists and recovering a cache of weapons and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Kebbi State.
The operation was carried out on June 14, 2026, in Dogon Daji, Dandi Local Government Area of the state. According to military authorities, the troops launched a coordinated offensive against the terrorists, forcing them to flee their hideout following intense gunfire.
During a follow-up pursuit operation, the soldiers recovered a significant quantity of weapons, explosives, and other items abandoned by the fleeing terrorists.
The spokesperson for the operation, Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, disclosed that the recovered items included rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) launchers, several RPG warheads, multiple improvised explosive devices (IEDs), two motorcycles used by the terrorists, battery chargers, and other personal belongings.
He added that the troops completed the operation without any casualties or injuries.
The military described the operation as a demonstration of Operation FANSAN YAMMA's commitment to dismantling terrorist networks and criminal elements across the North-West region.
Security forces have reaffirmed their determination to sustain pressure on terrorist groups and armed criminals to ensure the safety and security of law-abiding citizens.
