The Federal Government has announced significant progress on the 350-megawatt Gwagwalada Power Plant Project, describing it as a major step towards improving electricity supply across Nigeria.
A team of journalists and media representatives recently visited the project site in Gwagwalada, Abuja, to assess the level of work and verify progress on the facility.
The inspection tour was coordinated by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Public Enlightenment, Malam Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, as part of efforts to promote transparency and provide first-hand information on key government projects.
Officials overseeing the project disclosed that construction work is nearing completion and that the power plant is expected to contribute significantly to the national grid upon commencement of operations.
The 350MW facility is part of the Federal Government’s efforts under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration to strengthen power generation and improve access to electricity across the country.
Stakeholders expressed optimism that the project will help address longstanding power challenges and support economic growth when fully operational.
