The Federal Government has showcased key development projects in Kano State, including the Challawa Irrigation Project and the Renewed Hope City housing scheme, as part of efforts to highlight ongoing investments under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The projects were inspected by a team of journalists participating in the “Gani Ya Kori Ji” initiative, led by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Public Enlightenment, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz.
At the Challawa Irrigation Project in Karaye Local Government Area, officials outlined the project's expected contribution to agricultural productivity and food security through improved irrigation facilities for farmers.
The team also toured the Renewed Hope City housing project in Janguza, a flagship Federal Government housing programme designed to provide affordable homes and reduce the nation’s housing deficit.
According to project officials, the development consists of more than 1,000 housing units. The first phase, comprising 325 completed houses, is awaiting commissioning, while construction continues on the second phase, which will deliver an additional 698 units.
Speaking during the inspection, Abdulaziz said the “Gani Ya Kori Ji” initiative was created to give Nigerians direct access to government projects and promote transparency through firsthand assessment of development efforts.
He added that similar inspection tours would continue across Northern Nigeria to showcase major projects being executed under the Tinubu administration.
