Participants of the ongoing inspection tour of Federal Government projects in Kano State under the Arewa Media Summit initiative have visited the Kano Northern Bypass project, a major road infrastructure development expected to improve transportation and economic activities in the state.
The project, which spans approximately 38 kilometres, connects the Kano–Hadejia Road to the Kano–Katsina Road. It is designed to divert heavy-duty vehicles away from the Kano metropolis, thereby reducing traffic congestion within the city.
Officials overseeing the project said the bypass is expected to enhance the movement of goods and passengers, reduce transportation costs and travel time, and support commercial and industrial activities along the corridor upon completion.
The inspection tour was organised by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Public Enlightenment, Malam Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, as part of activities leading to the Arewa Media Summit.
The Arewa Media Summit is scheduled to hold on July 6, 2026, at the Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano, and is expected to bring together journalists, media practitioners, digital influencers, and other stakeholders from across Northern Nigeria.
