The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lapai Chapter, has announced plans to host its First Youth Summit 2026 as part of efforts to promote youth participation in community development, peacebuilding, and national unity.
The summit is scheduled to hold on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the IBB University Auditorium, Lapai, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
According to the organisers, the event will bring together youths, policymakers, community leaders, and security stakeholders to discuss issues affecting young people and their role in societal development.
The summit will feature discussions on two key themes: “The Role of Youths in Community Development in Today's Modern Society” and “Secure Our Future: Community Forum on Political Violence and Insecurity.”
NYCN Lapai said the forum is designed to provide a platform for constructive engagement on youth empowerment, community progress, peace, security, and nation-building.
The council encouraged young people across Lapai Local Government Area and beyond to participate actively in the summit, describing it as an opportunity to contribute ideas and solutions towards building a more peaceful, secure, and prosperous society.
