Troops Arrest Sudanese Terror Suspect, Three Alleged ISWAP Collaborators in North-East Operations

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested a Sudanese national suspected of having links to terrorist groups and apprehended three other individuals alleged to be collaborators and logistics suppliers to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) during separate operations in Borno and Yobe states.

According to operational reports obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday, the arrests were made following intelligence-led missions conducted across parts of the North-East region.

The report stated that troops of the 115 Task Force Battalion arrested Musa Fashir, a 32-year-old Sudanese national, in the Lassa-Dille area of Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.

Military sources said preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect was believed to have connections with terrorist elements operating in the region. Authorities are continuing investigations to determine the extent of his alleged involvement.

In a separate operation, troops also detained Mary Florence, a 36-year-old woman who reportedly identified herself as a Ghanaian national. According to security sources, she was found without valid travel documentation, and investigations are ongoing to verify her identity and determine whether she has any links to terrorist activities or other criminal offences.

Meanwhile, troops of the 27 Task Force Brigade, working alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), arrested another suspect in Shishiwaji, Gulani Local Government Area of Yobe State.

The suspect is alleged to be involved in illegal mining activities and is being investigated for suspected links to ISWAP. Three mobile phones were reportedly recovered from him at the time of arrest.

In another operation conducted during a farmers' protection patrol in Kasabalari, Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State, troops arrested two individuals suspected of supplying materials and equipment to ISWAP operatives.

Items recovered from the suspects included two bicycles, a mobile phone, an identification card, pesticides, medications, bicycle repair tools, a solar panel, a flashlight and knives.

Military authorities said the operations demonstrate the effectiveness of intelligence gathering and collaboration among security agencies in disrupting terrorist networks and their support structures across the North-East.
