The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved 23 major road projects valued at over ₦3.9 trillion across 15 states, including Niger State, as part of ongoing efforts to improve the country's road infrastructure.
The approvals were announced by the Minister of Works, David Umahi, following the council's meeting.
Among the projects is an additional ₦15 billion approved for the ongoing 32.2-kilometre Gashua Road Project in Yobe State. The funding is expected to accelerate the completion of the road, which was initially awarded in 2022.
The council also approved highway construction, rehabilitation, dualisation, and bridge projects in Adamawa, Benue, Cross River, Ebonyi, Ekiti, Kogi, Kwara, Lagos, Niger, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Plateau, Taraba, and Yobe states.
