FUT Minna Restricts Student Movement from 1am to 6am Amid Security Concerns

The Students' Union Government (SUG) of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT Minna) has announced a restriction on student movement between 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. as part of measures to enhance security within the university community.

In a public notice dated June 30, 2026, the Students' Union said the directive takes immediate effect and is aimed at addressing growing security concerns around the institution.

According to the notice, security personnel have been deployed across the community to enforce the restriction. Students have been advised to return to their residences before 1:00 a.m. and avoid unnecessary movement during the restricted hours.
The union further warned that any student found outside after 1:00 a.m. without a valid identification card would be doing so at their own risk and could be taken into police custody by security agencies.

The Students' Union urged members of the university community to remain vigilant, cooperate with security personnel, and support ongoing efforts to improve safety within and around the campus.

The development comes amid heightened concerns over insecurity affecting students in the university environment, prompting renewed calls for stronger security measures.
