The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has called on stakeholders in Nigeria's printing industry to embrace unity, reconciliation and collaboration to strengthen the sector and enhance its global competitiveness.
The Minister made the call on Tuesday at the Nigeria Print Industry Stakeholders' Summit 2026, themed "From Resolution to Renaissance," held in Abuja.
He said the resolution of the leadership dispute within the Chartered Institute of Professional Printers of Nigeria (CIPPON) offers an opportunity to reposition the industry and unlock its economic potential.
According to the Minister, a united industry would be better positioned to attract government support, policy interventions and investment, while creating more employment opportunities. He added that the Federal Government remains committed to supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening professional standards, improving the operating environment and expanding the sector's contribution to national development.
Mohammed Idris also urged the leadership of CIPPON to adopt an inclusive approach by carrying all stakeholders along, regardless of past differences. He further encouraged industry practitioners to embrace technological innovation to remain competitive in an increasingly digital environment.
Speaking at the summit, the President and Chairman of the Governing Council of CIPPON, Koko T. Clement, said the Institute had made significant progress since the inauguration of the current Governing Council in December 2025. He noted that the Institute had engaged relevant government institutions to strengthen professional standards, improve industry regulation and promote policies that support the growth of Nigeria's printing industry.
He also appealed to stakeholders to work together in peace and mutual understanding to advance the development of the printing and packaging industry in the country.
