The Suleja Local Government Council has appealed to the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB) to prioritise the rehabilitation of dilapidated primary schools across the local government area.
The council chairman, Alhaji Isyaku Naibi, made the appeal during a working visit to the NSUBEB headquarters in Minna on August 4, 2026.
Naibi expressed concern over the deteriorating condition of infrastructure in public primary schools in Suleja, stressing the need to provide pupils with safe and conducive learning environments.
He urged NSUBEB to prioritise the renovation and upgrading of school buildings, as well as the provision of additional classrooms, desks, instructional materials, water and sanitation facilities, perimeter fencing and other essential infrastructure.
Responding, the Executive Chairman of NSUBEB, Alhaji Ibrahim Liman, commended Naibi for his initiative and commitment to improving education in the council area.
Liman assured the council of the board’s readiness to collaborate with the local government through available intervention programmes and future projects.
The development highlights the need for continued investment in basic education infrastructure to improve teaching and learning conditions in Niger State.
