Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has approved the appointment of six Commissioners-Designate, a Chief Political Adviser and three Special Advisers on Political Matters.
The appointments were announced in a statement issued on Monday, September 7, 2026, by the Secretary to the Niger State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman.
The six Commissioners-Designate are Hon. Lucky Barau of Gurara Local Government Area, Hon. Isah Wakili of Bosso, Dr. Isah Adamu of Kontagora, Hon. Emmanuel Alamu of Magama, Hon. Shuaibu Saidu Kaboji of Mashegu, and Mohammed Danladi Garba of Borgu Local Government Area.
The governor also approved the appointment of Alhaji Nma Kolo as Chief Political Adviser.
Similarly, Yahaya Emilugi, Yusuf Tagwai and Salman Yusuf were appointed Special Advisers on Political Matters for Zones A, B and C, respectively.
According to the statement, the appointments are aimed at strengthening governance, improving service delivery and promoting broader representation across Niger State.
The Commissioners-Designate are expected to appear before the Niger State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the law.
Governor Bago congratulated the appointees and urged them to bring their experience and commitment to bear in contributing to the development of the state.
