The Federal Government has donated Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses to students of three tertiary institutions in Kano State as part of activities marking the 2026 Democracy Day celebration.
The beneficiaries are students of Bayero University Kano (BUK), Northwest University Kano, and Yusuf Maitama Sule Federal University of Education.
The buses were presented through a collaboration involving the Northern Project Coordination Office, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), and the Presidential CNG Initiative (PI-CNG).
Officials said the initiative is aimed at easing transportation challenges for students, reducing commuting costs, and promoting the use of cleaner energy in the transport sector.
Presidential Adviser on Media and Public Enlightenment, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, described the intervention as part of the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting education and improving students’ welfare.
